What we collect
When you use this website we may collect the following information:
- Contact form submissions — your name, phone number, email address, the type of work you're enquiring about, and the message you write. This is sent to us by email via the Web3Forms submission service.
- Analytics data — if you accept cookies, Google Analytics collects anonymised information about which pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location (country), the device you're using and how you got to the site. This is used only to understand how the website is performing.
How we use it
We use enquiry-form data only to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and (where applicable) deliver the work. We don't share it with anyone outside K. Smithurst Building Contractors Ltd for marketing purposes.
We use analytics data to understand which pages are useful, which aren't, and to keep improving the site. Analytics data is anonymised and aggregated — we can't identify you from it.
How long we keep it
Enquiry messages are kept for as long as is needed to complete the project plus any reasonable follow-up period (typically up to 24 months). Analytics data is held by Google Analytics under their own retention policies (currently up to 14 months by default).
Cookies
This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to count visitors and understand which pages are useful. Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies in your browser to do this.
We don't use any advertising, marketing or social-media tracking cookies. The website itself doesn't set any cookies of its own beyond what's strictly needed to remember your cookie choice.
Your choice
The first time you visited this site you were asked whether to accept or reject analytics cookies. You can change your mind at any time using the button below — your previous choice will be cleared and the banner will reappear on your next page load.

Third parties we use
- Web3Forms (web3forms.com) — handles the contact form submission and forwards it to our email. They process the submission once and don't store it long-term.
- Google Analytics (analytics.google.com) — only loaded if you accept cookies. Provides aggregated traffic data.
- GitHub Pages — hosts the website itself. May log standard web-server data (IP address, browser, referrer) for short periods for security purposes.
- Google Maps — embedded on the contact page to show our service area. Google may set its own cookies inside that embedded map.

We may update this policy if our website, services or third-party providers change. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
